It was so clear to me that we shouldn’t invade Iraq. After 9/11 everyone wanted revenge, including George W. Bush and the Whitehouse. It didn’t matter that this was not the country responsible for that horrific event. It didn’t matter that the inspectors had found no weapons of mass destruction. Didn’t they watch the television news like I did? It was a Big Mistake. I knew it. Why didn’t they know it?
This artwork is of me watching the news as we invaded Iraq in 2003. At the bottom, I collaged newspaper articles from the New York Times about the invasion and of the looting and sacking of the Baghdad museum. Why didn’t we foresee what would happen?
